There's a festival that happens each year in Oak Forest, IL called Oak Fest. They have a carnival, games, live music, and enough fried food to choke a horse. (That doesn't mean I didn't eat a funnel cake.)
Unfortunately, you can only go to the live entertainment if you're 21+ because it's in the beer garden, but I had a nice time walking around the carnival.
