Navy Pier

Hello. (:
Built in 1916,  Navy Pier. was originally used as both a shipping port and as an entertainment strip throughout WWI. Throughout the Great Depression, use of ships for cargo and transportation decreased as automobiles became more popular, causing the Pier to lose a bit of their audience until the World Fair in 1933.
Today, the Pier is used primarily for entertainment with the exception of the ballroom at the far end of the Pier used for business conferences as well as New Years Eve events and proms!
Inside of the Pier there are a variety of restaurants, including Bubba Gump Shrimp Co., along with an IMAX Theater, the Chicago Chidren's Museum, and the Chicago Shakespeare Theater.
On the outside of the Pier are several ships ranging from the Seadog, a speed boat, to Odyssey Chicago, a dinner cruise ship.
More notably is the 150 foot Ferris Wheel, I was too scared of because heights are not my favorite thing.
