Why Forests?

I will never call myself a photographer. Taking photos is nothing more than a hobby of mine. I love having my camera in my hand when I go places, any type of camera. I've started to prefer film over my digital camera, and it's because I get self conscious taking my digital camera out in public because it's not a professional camera by any means. But, I enjoy taking my camera out to the forests, those will always be my favorite places to go.

There are a plethora of forest preserves around my house, and it's an incredible change of pace to be able to delve into nature when I live in the suburbs. This is a small patch that's maybe five blocks away from my house. It's after a cul-de-sac, near a trailer park, and an industrial lot. I wanted to go and take some photos out there because it's a place that I used to hang out in a bit when I was younger.

There's something about forests, though. I've always been captivated by being surrounded by trees, and I have always found trees to be so beautiful, There's also something about forests that put me on the edge because forests also freak me out a little bit, but they make me feel alive. After having so much routine with work and classes, it's nice to get out into the forests and enjoy some scenery that isn't just houses and sunsets.
